Man Skiing by the Trent Building!
This weekend the University is to host graduates from the years 1962 and 1965, as these year groups either graduated or started their University careers here 50 years ago!
Members of the office have been busy planning and putting together the final agenda for the day, which includes a delicious lunch and hot buffet supper, drinks reception with the Vice Chancellor and tours of the Campuses, alongside the opportunity to meet with old friends who may not have been in touch since they graduated.
As our alumni have been registering for the event we have asked for messages and images to be sent in which make up the Golden Reunion Year Book which is given to everyone who attends as a memento of the day.
We have been inundated with the most fabulous pictures from the “swinging sixties”. Groups of students relaxing in the Buttery; Graduation balls with our alums sporting the most amazing hair do’s and outfits; The football, tennis, rugby and badminton teams; Hall formals and so much more.
I can’t wait to see the faces of the people attending tomorrow, finding themselves in the archived pictures, reminiscing on the time the picture was taken, the people they were with and how much the campus has grown since. I hope there will be lots of amazing stories to share and friendships rekindled.
My personal favourite from the year book, “Man skiing by the Trent Building”! Would they get away with that today? I wonder!
