Digital Spaces Workshop

Video >>

Roger Kerry talks about his use of twitter in teaching at the Using Space and Technology to Enhance Learning event 2nd May 2014.

Session abstract:
This session explored the nature of social media in modern learning models, and considered how virtual space should be seen as a valid environment in which deep learning can occur, creating group collaboration in the digital space when the physical space provides a limitation. Specifically, the workshop focused on the micro-blogging site Twitter and linked workshop content to some of the findings from a recent University of Nottingham “Twitter in Education” project. Discussion on social media was encouraged, particularly around how the digital world can relate to the “real-world” and how educators might consider the progressive integration of the two. Real-time “Twitter-learning” activity formed part of the workshop.
