Teaching leadership programme

The time is right for a ‘Leading Teaching’ programme at the University. Seismic changes in the HE landscape means that consistently high quality teaching is fundamental to the continuing success of the University. In an environment where students will increasingly act as consumers and be less prepared than they might have been previously to put up with a poor teaching experience, clear leadership to establish and maintain quality teaching is essential.

Professional Development are currently designing a programme to support change across different Schools and Faculties to ensure that teaching can respond to current and future challenges. Broad themes for the programme include defining quality in the discipline, managing performance and development and managing teaching innovations.

Schools will be consulted on proposed structure and content as plans develop.
