Your-Revision Song Contest
Well I am in the thick of exams at the moment – 1 down 3 to go! It was also the Eurovision song contest last weekend (so bad it’s good) which I LOVE and that was a lovely revision break. For me, the winners were Greece with this beauty ‘alcohol is free’:
But I’m glad they didn’t win as economically it might have presented a challenge!
For the highlights of Eurovision goodness amuse yourself with this:

However, as a lot of you know – revision can make you go a little crazy. Think Cabin fever on the muppets treasure island; anyway, when I was lying on the floor in my friends room with eight canvas bags round my neck and a box of cereal bars on my head singing the phrase “hypertension” to the tune of Balamory – I realised that maybe I’d had enough.
This week has produced a variety of modified songs that would definitely be involved in my “Your – revision song contest”, they are as follows:
To the tune of Pinnochio’s “I’ve got no strings”
I’ve got no brain, to hold me down
To make me fret, or make me frown
I’ve got no brain, and now I’m free
There is no brain in me
To the tune of Abba Gimme Gimme Gimme
Gimme gimme gimme some sleep after midnight,
Won’t somebody help me chase the caffeine away?
Gimme gimme gimme some sleep after midnight
Help through revision ’til the break of the day
To the tune of t.A.T.u (yay 90s) All the things she said
All the words I read (all the words I read)
Running through my head (running through my head)
RUNNING THROUGH MY HEAD
I have had enough (revision) I have had enough!
This came about due to revising that iron supplementation can make malaria and hook worms worse – as although it can help anaemia it can feed disease. This is sung in a slightly desperate manner – to the tune of Feed the Birds from Mary Poppins:
Feed the worms, tuppence a bag!
Tuppence, tuppence, tuppence a bag!
Feed the worms, tuppence a bag!
Tuppence, tuppence, tuppence a bag!
Other songs include:
Elton John: I’m still sleeping
Righteous Brothers: Unchained Memory
Beyonce: Single brain cell
Michael Jackson: Silly Gene (nucleotide polymorphism resulting in disease genotype)
Enrique Iglesias: Zero
Sophie Tucker: Life begins at 40 (percent)
Anyway I’m having too much fun procrastinating doing this – if you have any more pun-tastic revision songs do comment!
Not much other news other than church is good and a great way to get away from work and look at the bigger picture. If you want to procrastinate watch this video – I’m in it for a few seconds
And you can also follow them on twitter https://twitter.com/Junction_Church for some encouraging tweets!
Well I’d better get my nose back to the grind stone – but I’ll be done by next Wednesday in time for my next blog! YAY!
I hope and pray you’ll all have a good week despite exams 🙂
Sarah-I am disappointed that you didn’t answer any questions on my exam, through the medium of song!
I’m glad someone else is going as crazy as me. My song has been to oliver ‘I’d do anything’ but essentially just changing it to ‘I can’t do anything’. I won’t post the rest as I’m sure it contains far too many swear words
