Tain’t whatcha do it’s the way that you do it… and that’s what gets results!
Hi to y’all! (or should that be, hi to ‘yule’? I know, I’m so witty…)
So, just one week left at uni before the holidays! This week just gone has been a lot of fun, there’s been a lot of events happening in the run up to Christmas. For me it’s been a week filled with some brilliant music, dancing, and most importantly a load of wonderful people, who I am going to miss very much over the holidays!
Throughout the course of the week, I have been to a charity ceilidh (a type of Scottish folk dance), played at a swing jam session, learnt a dance called the shim sham and then flash-mobbed both the Portland Building and Coates Café (two regularly busy places on campus) with this dance, taken a coach to see a professional production of 42nd Street in Leicester, danced another night away at the last Jitterbug of the year, and just this afternoon marvelled at the New Theatre production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
Here are some pictures from the swing jam session:
I was a little nervous about this at first as I haven’t played my clarinet in quite a long time, but I had so much fun and we played some really good music, so now I am excited about the future of the group!
I’ve tried to upload a video of the flash mob but I think the file size is too big. We only had two hours the previous evening in which to learn the dance so we were all a bit nervous and it didn’t all go exactly to plan, but I think we gave it a good enough shot!
So that’s what I’ve been up to this week; leaving me little time to sleep and eat, but luckily it’s that time of year when you realise you still have loads of food in the freezer that needs eating up, and can pretty much put together two weeks’ worth of meals with very little effort!
Speak in a week,
Georgina
