And now, the end is near…
The end of uni is hurtling towards us at breakneck speed and the nostalgic juices have been flowing each time we’ve done a ‘last time we’ll ever…’ activity. In first year, we religiously followed an Impact bucket list guide to Nottingham and managed to complete an impressive amount of it, but it seems that we still have some unfinished business with the jewel of the East Midlands (sorry Derby, I’m sure you’re lovely too).
Picnic in Wollaton Park
So I put this one first because I actually did it yesterday and it was the best (we even bought stuffed olives for it- stuffed!). My boyfriend and I sat opposite some surprisingly chilled out deer, with a view of Batman’s manor and looked across the park remembering how everything the light touches Simba… is somebody else’s.
Return to B town
My first year home… it was the best of times, it was the worst of times. One last trip to the second-hand bookshops of Beeston would fulfil my nostalgic criteria and hopefully Albion House’s Sir Clive Granger the cat could make an appearance for one last goodbye (and then maybe I could put him in my bag and keep him forever?)
Boat Race
Our house is planning a major rowing boat race on Highfields Park’s lake, but this may just be substituted for attempting the get the perfect shot of us rowing with the Trent building in the background. Speaking of which, I will be desperately trying to get UoN to regram the 100 Instagrams I will be doing of Highfields Park before the end of June.
Take a cringey photo in front of the Robin Hood statue
Because did you even go to Nottingham otherwise?
More practice needed to win the rowing race, methinks! Great read! Greg
