Feeling good

Hello everyone!

This is my final week in Clinical Phase 1 (hospital attachment) and I’m just so nervous about the exam next week. I’m sure that most of my colleagues are as well. Exams; truly one of the things that would make a typical student feel a little bit anxious.

Anyway, on Friday last week, I received an email stating that I am one of the 20 medical students who are given the chance to attend a Psychiatry Summer School in Durham this July! I was just so ecstatic when I read the email because I really want to go. Firstly, the event is free. Besides that, it’s only 3 days during the 2 week holiday (transition from 3rd to 4th Year Medicine happens in a short period of time 😛 ) and all successful applicants are given a bursary to cover the cost of accommodation. The venue is at Radisson Blu Hotel, Durham and I went to the website to check out the rooms along with the facilities; it is really a posh hotel. I’m definitely excited to go to the Summer School. I’m also planning to go and see my friends in Newcastle and Edinburgh. Hopefully, all goes well.

And yesterday, me and Fadh went to have dinner at Bonzai for one last time before he flies back to Malaysia for the long summer holidays (yeah, students from other courses get long holidays). We had teriyaki chicken since in my opinion, that’s the most delicious dish on the menu. But for some reason, it wasn’t as good as the one I had several months before. It was probably because of the cold weather 😛 I love Bonzai – it has lots of wonderful Japanese dishes and they even have some Malaysian meals which I have yet to try. If you’ve been following my blog since the first post, you’d realise that I talked about Bonzai in a previous entry. It truly is one of my favourite restaurants.

My favourite dish at Bonzai - Teriyaki Chicken Udon!

Well, that’s all for now. I really do have a tendency to write long stories and get distracted from doing my revision. Wish me all the best! A lot of my friends are giving me support like calling me every now and then. My friends from Liverpool even came to my house last weekend. Just what I need before the big exams next week – excellent social support from m friends =)

Till then, take care!

Wafi 😉
