Nottingham Impact Accelerator — apply now for £40,000 knowledge exchange fund

The Nottingham Impact Accelerator’s Knowledge Exchange Annual Prize is awarded on 22 March 2019 – and researchers who register for the event can also apply for up to £40,000 in prize money to support the transfer and exchange of knowledge.

The deadline for applications is Friday 1 March. The fund is open to researchers from all disciplines and applications are particularly encouraged from early career researchers.

Winners will be announced at the KE prize fund event.

The event is hosted by Professor Dame Jessica Corner, Pro-Vice-Chancellor Research and Knowledge Exchange. It includes a lunch, opportunities to network and to discover more about the internal funding streams available to support translational research and knowledge exchange.

It takes place in the Great Hall, Trent Building, University Park Campus, 22 March 2019, 11.30am–1pm.

Lunch and Learn Programme

The University is further supporting KE through its Knowledge Exchange and Commercialisation Lunch and Learn Programme.

This was launched in January 2019 and underlines that an understanding of knowledge exchange  and commercialisation is key to the role of researchers, not least due to the increasing amounts of funding available to support KE.

The programme is open to research staff from all disciplines across the University, although places are limited.

Forthcoming Lunch and Learn events events, all taking place at the Advanced Manufacturing Building, Jubilee Campus, from 12.30 include:

27 March – Ingenuity and Innovation Professor Simon MoseyProfessor in Entrepreneurship and Innovation and Director of the Haydn Green Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship

24 April – Policy and Public Engagement Alex Miles, Director of Global and Political Affairs; Stephen Meek and Chris Sims, Institute for Policy and Engagement

22 May – Real-World Commercialisation Professor Barrie Hayes-Gill, Professor of Electronic Systems and Medical Devices and Academic Entrepreneur in Residence

19 June – Real-World Commercialisation Professor Lucy Donaldson, Professor of Sensory Physiology and Associate Pro-Vice-Chancellor for the Graduate School and Researcher Career Development
