‘Killers of the King’ with Charles Spencer, 9th Earl Spencer

On Tuesday 12 May, the University and the Department of History were delighted to welcome Charles Spencer, 9th Earl Spencer, to deliver a lecture entitled ‘Killers of the King’.

The lecture dealt with the subject matter of Earl Spencer’s new book, Killers of the King: The Men who Dared Execute Charles I, which tells the shocking and fascinating stories of the men who signed Charles I’s death warrant. This was followed by a Q&A session, and a book signing.
