The abstract from an audit she carried out within the Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust in August 2016 was accepted for a poster presentation at the event. The audit was based on non-adherence to probiotic therapy, which is used to reduce the risk of C. difficile infections in patients taking high-risk antibiotics, and involved interviewing patients to consider reasons for lack of adherence and possible strategies for improvement.

Based on the results, the Trust are designing a patient information leaflet on the purpose and importance of taking prescribed probiotic therapy.

The main topic of the conference was de-prescribing and included talks on the management of polypharmacy from both a consultant pharmacist and GP.
