Karen Cox Legacy

Before she left to take up her prestigious appointment as Vice-Chancellor of the University of Kent, Professor Karen Cox reflected on her career at the University of Nottingham in a recorded interview with the Human Resources’ People & Culture team.

Clips from the interview will be sited in relevant places across the website. The clip here on the Athena SWAN Workspace shows Karen’s thoughts on why equality, diversity and inclusion are important to the University of Nottingham. In the clip here on the Leadership & Management Hub Karen speaks about how her career developed.

The videos will be presented to EDI Board at the first meeting chaired by Dame Jessica Corner, who succeeds Karen as Chair of the EDI Board.

The interview followed Karen’s presentation to the Women’s Network, which was followed by a lively Q & A on balancing work and parenthood, developing a career, and part time working. You can view the talk here on Workspace.

On behalf of staff across the University we would like to thank Karen for taking the time to share her experience.

We wish Karen every success in her new role as Vice Chancellor at the University of Kent.
