Highlights from ‘Citizens of the Third Reich’

Friday 27 January 2017 wwas Holocaust Memorial Day, marking the 72nd anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz concentration camp.

To commemorate this, and launch our LGBT History Month events programme, Dr Max Biddulph gave a public lecture titled ‘Citizens of the Third Reich – everyday betrayals and the Pink Triangle prisoners of Sachsenhausen’. This lecture explored the question – how does living in a totalitarian regime influence the behaviour of its citizens, and what are the implications for contemporary societies?

@UoNPandC live-tweeted the event, which we’ve gathered into a Storify. You can view these highlights here or as a slide-show below. To view captions, please hover the mouse over images.
