Your chance to rename the Women’s development programmes

Award winning women’s development programmes for staff

The University has award winning women’s development programmes for staff:

  • Pear‘PEAR’ programme for women working at levels 1-3 – O&S, APM and technical
    services staff

  • apple‘APPLE’ programme for women working at levels 4-5 – Assistant Professors, Laboratory Managers, Research Fellows & Senior Research Fellows

  • wand‘WAND’ programme for women working levels 6 – Associate Professors & senior professional managers & senior research leaders.

A new professional image: your chance to name the Women’s
development programmes

Recently, there have been various developments and changes to the Women’s Development programmes offered by Professional Development: Suzanne Morton who had established the APPLE programme 11 years ago has now handed on responsibility to Jo Bramham (Jo now leads the APPLE and WAND programmes); PEAR has just celebrated 10 years and updated its programme to include a new City & Guilds qualification.

We have decided to rename all three programmes: PEAR, APPLE and WAND under one umbrella name, allowing women to pick the programme that would suit their job family and level at work.

This is where you come in – we would like you to suggest a name for all three programmes – it doesn’t have to be fruit themed (or an acronym)!  We are looking for something that will inspire women to attend the programmes and keep women’s development at the forefront of University life….

So if you’d like to take part in the renaming of the Women’s Development programmes, please send your suggestions to Johanna.bramham@nottingham.ac.uk by 9:30am on Monday 14th November 2016.  All entries will be put before a panel of judges and the lucky winner will be announced on Friday 18th November.  The winning entry will received a £20 Amazon voucher. Good luck!
