Worlds Literature Festival, 2011. Norwich.

I spent last week on the campus of the University of East Anglia, as part of a conference organised by Writers’ Centre Norwich which brings together writers from across the world to talk about and share their experiences of writing. This year’s theme was influence, in relation to Creative Writing, translation, and poetry and form. The morning discussions, which I had expected to be dry and somewhat impenetrable, were in fact illuminating and engaging and based on people’s own experiences of writing, and reading. Some notes on those conversations will follow; first, since the UEA campus is distinguished by being home to a large population of fearless rabbits, here’s a picture of a rabbit.
