What’s On? – January and February 2014

The Off Campus Student Affairs team here at the University of Nottingham would like to wish all of our blog readers a very happy new year.

Why not make one of your new year’s resolutions  to explore more of what Nottingham has to offer while you’re studying here? Here’s a few upcoming events in the next couple of months to get things off to a good start.

Event: Elephant Parade
Date: 6th January to 9th February
Location: Broadmarsh Centre, Victoria Centre, Nottingham Tourist Centre
Information: The Elephant Parade is the world’s largest open air art exhibition of decorated elephant statues, seeking to raise awareness and support for Asian elephant conservation. There will be around thirty elephants situated around the city – can you spot them all?

Event: Sunday Segways
Date: 26th January from 11am
Location: Wollaton Park
Information: Spend half an hour touring Wollaton Park on a segway for £10, or have a five minute taster session for £3.

Event: Nottingham StrEAT
Date: 7th – 9th February, 10am – 7pm Friday, 10am – 4pm Sat/Sun
Location: Lace Market Square
Information: A new street market in the Lace Market, offering items from local arts, crafts, food and drinks producers.

Event: Light Night 2014
Date: 28th February from 6pm
Location: Nottingham City Centre
Information: Free activities and entertainment across the city centre – galleries, churches and cultural venues will all be running a special programme.
