Brunei comes to Nottingham for a day of student sport
Hundreds of students from Brunei will be putting on their sports gear this Saturday for a day of competition as part of the BruNotts Easter Games (BEG).
The Games were first organised in 2003 to bring together Bruneian students from institutions across the UK and Ireland for a range of sporting events. Students will compete at the University’s Sports Centre at University Park across the day in a range of sports including netball, football and squash. There will also be a table tennis event for the first time this year.
Now in its ninth year, the games aim to strengthen the ties between Bruneians and promote healthy competition – and that’s why their motto for the year is ‘Meet to Compete’.
In addition to the sporting events, there will also be a chance to sample a range of Bruneian local delicacies and BruNotts Easter Games T-shirts will be on sale in order to raise money for charity.
