Egg-cellent idea for remote Easter fun!

People across the University are finding creative ways to keep in touch with colleagues remotely and maintain some social interaction during these difficult times.

With Easter fast approaching the Sustainable Processing Technologies group have set up an online Easter Egg hunt for people to take part in.

Eggs have been hidden (with all necessary precautions taken) around the labs and pictures have been posted online. When you click on the picture it takes you to some information about the group and their research. There is also a codon associated with each egg, which when translated into its corresponding amino acid will spell a word – anyone entering the word online gets the chance to win a kids chemistry set or soft toy microbe.

The hunt has been set up by Christof Jaeger organized the hunt, he said: “As a group we’re used to working closely together in the lab so we are missing that interaction with each other. I thought this would be a fun way to lift the spirits and connect with colleagues and friends in the lead up to Easter.”
