BBC antiques show on hunt for sporting memorabilia

The BBC’s popular antiques programme Flog It will be arriving in the Nottingham on Good Friday (Friday April 14) when it holds its valuation day at the University and will be aiming to celebrate the city’s strong sporting heritage.

Members of the public are invited to bring up to three items to Trent Building on University Park campus to have a free valuation on the day and presenter Paul Martin and experts Charles Hanson, Caroline Hawley and Michael Baggott will be searching through the antiques and collectables hoping to discover some hidden treasures.

Alex Habgood, the show’s location manager, said: “As well as seeing all of your interesting antiques, Flog It is also specifically looking for any sports memorabilia you may have, this is to celebrate Nottingham being acknowledged as the ‘Home of English Sport’. So dust off those old footy boots and shoot down to our Valuation Day, you never know, you might just score!”

The BBC will be making four editions of the show featuring The University of Nottingham and they will be transmitted within eighteen months of recording.

BBC Flog It will be in The Trent Building at The University of Nottingham, University Park, Nottingham, NG7 2RD between 9.30am and 4.00pm on Friday April 14. The event is free to attend and parking will be available on campus.

The items selected for filming at the valuation day will go under the hammer at Mellors and Kirk Auctioneers on Wednesday May 10.
