Our 2013 Video Highlights
2013 has been our busiest year yet for video; our team has been all over the world capturing a wide variety of stories to share, tracking rare, endangered elephants from the depths of the Malaysian rainforest, to sailing the icy Norwegian fjords on the world’s largest replica Viking longship. We couldn’t fit it all in, but we’ve put together a playlist of our 2013 highlights in video, from our own zombie apocalypse on campus to world-class research in improving crops and global food security.
Fresh Meat does Comic Relief at The University of Nottingham
The cast from Fresh Meat joined us on campus to aid our money raising efforts for Comic Relief; helping to clock up some miles in the cycle from Uganda to Zanzibar and pouring pints in our student bar. Hundreds of students gathered to get a glimpse, hug or autograph with the stars!
Ancient naval battle site ‘rammed’ with relics of war
The University of Nottingham’s underwater archaeologist Dr Jon Henderson has been a part of the team using advanced techniques and equipment to map and survey this ancient battle site off the coast of Sicily.
Pop art to Britart – modern masters from the David Ross Collection
This video documents the opening night of the new exhibition at Lakeside Arts Centre, ‘Pop art to Britart’. David Ross tells us where his interest in art began and how he started collecting artwork. Neil Walker, Visual Arts officer at Lakeside Arts Centre, explains the composition of the collection. The stunning exhibition runs until the 9th February 2014 and admission is free.
