Promotions recognise professional excellence
It’s that time of the year again when congratulations go out to the cream of the University’s crop who have achieved success in the latest round of academic promotions.
This year, Nottingham gains a total of 24 new professors who are at the peak of their profession, who have been recognised for their excellence in research and teaching.
In addition, 11 members of staff have been promoted to the position of Associate Professor Reader and 41 will become Associate Professor. A further 22 members of academic staff will become a Principal Research Fellow, Lecturer, Senior Research Fellow or Research Fellow.
Career milestone
In the Vice-Chancellor’s recent blog about the work of the two academic promotions committees, which he chairs, Professor David Greenaway said: “These promotions are obviously important milestones for all concerned in their personal career development.
“They are also a source of pride to the University, not only in recognising excellence but in acknowledging future leaders who will help develop the careers of those that follow them.”
