On trial: Political Extremism and Radicalism

We are pleased to announce a trial for Political Extremism and Radicalism from Gale Cengage.

The archival collections cover a wide range of fringe political movements. It focuses on political extremism and radical thought, with material from groups in the far right and radical left. The collections cover the period from the 1900s to 2010s and include propaganda, periodicals, official records and oral histories.

Highlights include:

• The National Archives provides access to digitised home office and secret service documents concerning British communist and fascist movements from World War I onwards, including material relating to Sir Oswald Mosley and other suspected Nazi sympathisers.
• The Hall-Hoag Collection which features extremist material from the 1950s-1980s focusing on differing opinions about the civil rights movement.
• The American Radicalism Collection features ephemera for radical groups involved in race, gender, religion and equal rights.
• The Searchlight Archive consists of material produced by Searchlight Associates for investigating and exposing racist and fascist groups, including oral history interviews with anti-fascist activists.

Political Extremism and Radicalism in the Twentieth Century shows the impact of radical groups and provides a unique view on extreme political movements.

The trial runs until 1^st April 2020.
