Trial access to The Nation and The New Republic
At the request of an academic colleague in American & Canadian Studies, we have trial access to two primary sources of American alternative journalism: The Nation and The New Republic.
The Nation Archive digital archive contains thousands of historic articles, editorials, letters, reviews, poems, and puzzles dating back to the magazine’s first issue from July 6, 1865. Offering more than 7,500 issues the archive includes perspectives on news, politics, and culture from writers, artists, novelists, and playwrights.
The New Republic digital archive offers a searchable full-text backfile of more than 4,550 issues. The magazine, founded in 1914, is considered of the country’s leading journals of opinion on politics and the arts. It features award-winning writers and critics from many fields and from most political viewpoints.
The trials will run until the 10th of June. Please send your feedback to collections@nottingham.ac.uk
