Visit the Ingenuity Lab Open Day on 10 May!
Thinking of starting a business? Find out how we support business start-ups at the second annual Ingenuity Lab Open Day!
Based on Jubilee Campus, The Ingenuity Lab is where students, staff, and alumni of the University of Nottingham can explore their business ideas and start their own enterprises. After the success of last year’s Open Day, we are once again opening our doors to welcome all budding entrepreneurs at the university and give them a chance to see what the Lab has to offer.
On Wednesday 10 May, you will have the chance to take a tour of the Lab, join in taster activities – such as surgeries, mentoring and seminars – and discover the wide range of businesses being developed by our members.
The Open Day is also an excellent opportunity to meet some of the expert business mentors and Entrepreneurs in Residence who support our members throughout their entrepreneurial journey. You can take part in mini surgery sessions with Keith Burgess (IBM), Steve Watts (CambridgeIQ) and Nicolas Linardos (Future Health Technologies) or gain valuable insights from taster seminars from marketing and sustainability expert Tim Elliott or leading UK law firm Shakespeare Martineau.
Meanwhile founder of Guardian Law, Entrepreneur in Residence Nickie Elenor, will give a fireside interview talking about her entrepreneurial journey and the highs and lows of building a successful startup.
We will also be running a competition where you can test your business idea with Entrepreneurs in Residence Steve Watts and Fiona Duncan-Steer, to be in with a chance to win a prize to help launch your new venture.
Current Lab members and ambassadors will be on-hand to give you a tour of our facilities, and tell you all about the fantastic community of likeminded business owners based here at the Lab. We will also be hosting pop-up shops for Lab members to showcase their products and services.
As well as finding out about the many ways the Ingenuity Lab supports our entrepreneurs, you can also hear about the other programmes run by the Haydn Green Institute, with booths from the Ingenuity Programme, Witty Entrepreneurial Scholarship, and YES.
Head of The Ingenuity Lab, Dr Terri Holloway said: “Open Day is such an exciting time for us to welcome partners, colleagues, and future Lab members to our vibrant environment filled with entrepreneurial activity and ground-breaking innovations. Absolutely everyone is welcome and we can’t wait to see you there!”
The Open Day will run from 11am to 3pm at The Ingenuity Lab, on the top floor of the Ingenuity Centre on Jubilee campus, and refreshments will be available throughout the day.
