Celebrating 5 Years of Scale Success: A Milestone for the Ingenuity Lab’s Accelerator Programme

This summer, the Ingenuity Lab proudly celebrated the fifth anniversary of its ground-breaking Scale programme—an accelerator initiative designed to help ambitious entrepreneurs elevate their ventures to new heights. Over the past five years, Scale has evolved into a unique platform for early-stage businesses looking to navigate the complexities of growth. The programme, structured to address the key challenges of scaling a business, has seen impressive success, empowering entrepreneurs to refine their strategies, build robust business plans, and expand their market reach.

Scale is not your typical accelerator programme. Delivered over the course of five weeks during the summer, it offers a unique blend of teaching, facilitation, and peer-to-peer learning. Each of the five sessions focuses on a critical aspect of business growth, from strategic planning to human resources, sales and marketing, finance, and ultimately, the art of pitching.

Participants benefit from the expertise of seasoned professionals and academics, who bring a wealth of knowledge and real-world experience to the table. This year’s sessions were:

• Tuesday, 2 July: Business Planning, including an introduction to Business Model Canvas software – Dr. Terri Holloway, Professor Simon Mosey, and Dr. Tom Coogan
• Tuesday, 9 July: Human Resources – Dr. Rob Wapshott
• Tuesday, 16 July: Sales and Marketing – David Falzani
• Tuesday, 23 July: Finance – Scaling Finances for Growth and Overcoming Barriers – Professor Rob Carroll
• Tuesday, 30 July: Scale Attendee Pitches and Celebration Event

These sessions delved into essential areas of business development, providing participants with strategies for building effective teams, promoting products, and managing finances for sustainable growth. The programme ended in a celebration event where participants pitched their businesses, demonstrating the skills and knowledge they had learned.
