16 December 2016 – what’s the story behind door number 16?

Gold medal for table tennis superstar student.

Zhao Shuai, a student at The University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC) won his second paralympic gold medal at the Rio Paralympic Games. Zhao Shuai after successfully defending his men’s single Table Tennis title.

A member of the Chinese Paralympic table tennis team, Zhao, began studying English at UNNC earlier this year. He is supported by awards from the Deng Yaping Sports Scholarship – which assists young sports people to gain an education at some of the world’s top universities.

Who opened the door?

Our thanks to Sarah Thomas an Engineering Technician in the Department of Architecture who has the great job of helping our architecture students with 3D models and computer aided design. She is also on the Disabled Staff Network and the Equality and Diversity Inclusion Board.
