Student Money Matters! One of the 200+ Award modules

The Student Money Matters Project, is one of the Nottingham Advantage Award modules, that gives you the opportunity to be a key part of the University’s contribution to National Student Money Week (NSMW) taking place in February 2016. Within this module you will engage in peer-to-peer education, by researching, designing and delivering a campaign/event/workshop, for other students on the topic of improving financial capability.

The module will be led by experienced staff from the University’s Financial Support Team, with input from Student Advice Centre staff, Experian and Money Advice (Nottingham).

NSMW was established by the National Association of Student Money Advisors to raise awareness of student money matters within Higher Education Institutions and Further Education colleges as well as at a national level.

This year-long module will appeal to students with an interest in student welfare and financial capability or if you would like to pursue a career in one of the following:

  • The charity sector
  • University Support/Welfare Services
  • Student Union Welfare Services
  • Event/project management

During the module, you will develop many key skills such as financial awareness, event management, problem solving and time management.
