Developing your business awareness with the help of graduate recruiters

For a lot of students, what makes the Advantage Award so exciting and beneficial is the fact that it is so heavily supported by graduate recruiters. They form an integral part of the what the Award is all about, and they even run some of the modules offered as part of the scheme. In this blog post, we feature two modules being run by two of the employers we work with, Enterprise Rent a Car and Experian, which are both brilliant opportunities for students who want to develop their business awareness and acumen.

An Introduction To Corporate Social ResponsibilityEnterprise Rent a Car

Recently, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has grown into core business functionality. Now you have the opportunity to get involved yourself and shape the future CSR strategies for Enterprise Rent a Car. As the world’s largest car hire company, Enterprise recognise both the impact their business has on the world and the vital importance of sustainability. By taking part in this module not only do you get to attend workshops delivered by Enterprise staff but you will also be assigned a mentor from the company to further develop your commercial understanding and gain invaluable experience. You also get the opportunity to pitch your CSR ideas to senior managers at Enterprise. This is a very popular module and spaces are limited, so apply by 26th October 2011 on Workspace to avoid disappointment.

Developing Leadership SkillsExperian

The Experian Leadership Programme is designed for those aspiring to be business leaders. The module aims to help you understand what it takes to lead, and consists of a combination of workshop sessions delivering practical activities which will help you with self awareness, communication and team-work, presentation skills and more. You then deliver a short final presentation to demonstrate your learning in front of successful business leaders. This is a great opportunity to network with professionals and other potential future business leaders and gain invaluable skills that will ultimately help take you forward in your career. If this leadership module sounds like it’s for you then Experian can help, so complete the online application form by 3rd October 2011.
