Snow Scenes is an Arts and Humanities Research Council funded project exploring the role of place in weather memories in the United Kingdom. The team at the University of Nottingham are working in collaboration with Aberystwyth University and the University of Wales and working in partnership with the Royal Geographical Society (with IBG), Royal Meteorological Society and the National Library of Wales.
The project aims to expand regional pictures of extreme winter weather (particularly snow) in Cumbria and West Wales through archival research and the collection of weather memories.
If you have any memories of snow in the UK, especially those related to West Wales or Cumbria, or if you have stories of earlier cold periods, passed down to you by relatives please leave your memories and reflections on the “Submit a memory” link to the right.
