Advent calendar #7: Sustainability in the street
Recently I took a short break from all our MOOC preparations and spent an enjoyable weekend in Barcelona. Among the Gaudi, Picasso and other delights of a city I thoroughly recommend for a visit, I came across this alongside the Arc de Triomf.
A waste audit in a Barcelona square!
Children were being encouraged to don big plastic “space” suits and sort the waste for recycling. Art and dance were obviously also part of it all. The children were having a whale of a time and the sustainability message was getting across – in three languages! In Catalan, Spanish and English we were exhorted to:
Such a great initiative, and a bit of a busman’s holiday for me!
I have to acknowledge Google translate, which spotted which text was in Catalan and which in Spanish and translated it for me.
