CONGRATULATIONS Nottingham MedEd Scholars!

We’re proud to celebrate the Graduation of the Medical Education PGCert, PGDip and MMedSci Scholars this Friday 11th December 2020 at University of Nottingham.

We’re especially proud of their achievements in this Covid-19 pandemic year:

University students all over the word have had their studies disrupted. Losing a lot of the personal interaction with teachers and other students, they have had to negotiate new technology to keep up-to-date and motivated to carry on with their studies.

As well as this, most of the Scholars on the Medical Education course are medical or other healthcare professionals. Some have been working on the “Covid ward” whilst writing up essays and dissertations, most have had their work plans for the year changed at the last-minute and some have been given more hours and more responsibilities, whilst trying to continue their Masters studies in their spare time. Understandably, some have had to take a break in their studies due to work pressures and we as a faculty are ready to support them to complete their studies when they return.

Extra Special Congratulations go to our PRIZE WINNERS this year:

  • Kathryn Holden, who achieved the highest dissertation mark
  • Rob Cullum, who achieved the highest credit-weight average across all his assessments on the MMedSci

Graduation this year is a little different. There will be no chance to mix with hundreds of other people in graduation gowns – family watching. Instead the University of Nottingham are hosting a virtual graduation.

Most of the Medical Education faculty work clinically on Fridays, so we’ll be thinking of you all whilst sitting in our clinic, on-call GP session, on the wards, or working from home, but we offer you these words of congratulation in this video.
