Next year’s MBA sustainability and responsible business elective modules are unveiled
Details have been released of specialist sustainability and responsible business electives that are being offered by ICCSR to our full-time or executive MBA students and will also be available as bespoke executive education courses.
The five-day modules, which will be provided in 2016, cover four areas and will each be led by ICCSR staff.
We’ve posted short new videos about the modules – one for each – in which the module leader speaks about what each has to offer, including likely case study areas and their relevance to current business practice.
The modules are:
• Responsible business – a strategic approach (18-22 January 2016), led by Wendy Chapple, ICCSR Deputy Director, who will provide an introduction to the way in which social and environmental problems can be incorporated into corporate strategy and will look at the relationship between CSR and improved business performance.
• Business ethics (11-15 April 2016), led by Sareh Pouryousefi, Assistant Professor in Business Ethics, who will consider ethical issues as they affect business, especially multinationals in areas such as human rights.
• Corporate governance and sustainability (running from 4-8 July 2016), which will be led by Stefan Gold, Assistant Professor in Sustainability Management, Systems and Reporting, and will introduce the theory and practice of corporate governance – in particular how it relates to social accountability and sustainability accounting and reporting.
All Nottingham University Business School MBA students will also take one module towards the end of their studies, which will be on Sustainable decisions and organisations (6-10 June 2016 full time; 18-22 July 2016, exec and CSR), led by Paul Caulfield, MBA in CSR Director, which will enable students to develop business and management skills and capture an integrated view of their learning across their MBA programme.
Each of the new videos also includes information about how assessments are undertaken during and after the modules.
Paul Caulfield said: “Our modules offer a comprehensive look at better business covering individual management decisions, organisational strategy (#RB), and global level network effects. All Nottingham University Business School students will also practice and integrate their MBA learning with a live sustainable business case study.”
