Student Drop-ins Have Now Gone Virtual
Learning Technology have launched a new team in Microsoft Teams aimed at students to help them find out more about Moodle and other learning technologies. It’s basically the student version of the (Staff) Digital Learning Drop-In team. However, we hope it might become a little more than that.
Whereas the staff team is mainly for posting questions, the student team will also host virtual drop-ins from time to time. During these drop-ins, students can join an online meeting and speak directly to a member of the Learning Technology team for advice or assistance. This is the case this January. From 6th – 31st January (excluding weekends), there will be daily virtual drop-ins from 1:30pm to 2:30pm to support with the upcoming examination period as well as the start of the Spring semester. The meetings will be scheduled within the team.
To access the team, student will need the link to the Online – Moodle for Study Success drop-ins team. Once they have access, they can start navigating around the team and there are currently three channels which are:
- Join a virtual drop-in – In this channel, students will be able to find and join any scheduled virtual drop-ins. Drop-ins will only be held at certain points within the year.
- Moodle for Study Success drop-in – In this channel, students will be able to find general information about the team as well as find any announcements about upcoming virtual drop-ins and other events within the team.
- Post a query – In this channel, students will be able to post any queries for one of the team to respond to. The team will monitor this page between 9am and 4pm. We recommend that posts contain the @Helpers tag to alert the team.
We hope that the Online – Moodle for Study Success drop-ins team is able to thrive and that we are able to host more virtual drop-ins and other events in future. To help make it successful, please help to spread the word either by sharing this blog post or directing students directly to the Microsoft Team.
