Globall 2013
“Welcome to the mystery of the masquerade ball – a night full of secrets and desire.”
GeogSoc hosted their annual ‘Globall’ on Tuesday 30th April at the stunningly beautiful Albert Hall, Nottingham. The masquerade theme went down a treat, with a fabulous selection of Venetian masks to be spotted across the room. The 186 guests were treated to a glass of fizz upon arrival and there was a buzzing atmosphere as they awaited their grand entrance into the Great Hall.
After the guests enjoyed their three-course meals, the night kept rolling out more surprises; with a magician wowing the guests with his tricks whilst the whole room enjoyed the delectable tones of Highly Strung string quartet. The most popular part on the evening was undoubtedly the candy floss machine and the sweet candy buffet- with a variety of twenty pic-a-mix available. One guest even commented that it made her evening! The guests partied until dawn- with many continuing onto the after-party. Even the lecturers were swayed into joining the students at Pitcher & Piano for yet more dancing (and cocktails..!).
It is safe to say that the evening was a great success. We hope that everyone had a wonderful time, and that those who missed out will join us at next year’s Globall. Thank you to the GeogSoc Committee of 2012/2013 – excellent team!
