Louise Page 1955-2020
This post is to mark the passing of Louise Page, who died earlier this year after a battle with cancer. Louise was a prolific and acclaimed playwright, scriptwriter and academic. The Guardian published an obituary of her in June.
Louise was a friend of, and contributor to, the Nightingale Comes Home project. As part of her work with the Royal Literary Fund, she ran a session for us at our Nursing Discussion Forum in September last year on communication in nursing. Louise was strongly supportive of our efforts to highlight Nightingale’s connection to Derbyshire and we are grateful for the many conversations we had with her over the last couple of years and for her insights and suggestions.
RIP.
Deeply saddened to hear of Louise’s passing. We met through the Florence Nightingale Comes Home project and collaborated on local projects in 2019. She was an inspirational character, with great energy and positivity, full of ideas and always willing to help. The world is a lesser place for her passing.
