Alan Sommerstein

Alan Sommerstein has been Professor of Greek at the University of Nottingham since 1988. He is the author of many books on ancient Greek literature and society, including Greek Drama and Dramatists (2002), Talking about Laughter (2009), The Tangled Ways of Zeus (2010), Aeschylean Tragedy (2nd ed. 2010), Oath and State in Ancient Greece (2012, with Andrew Bayliss), and complete editions of the plays of Aeschylus (2008) and Aristophanes (1980-2002).
