About this blog
This blog accompanies the research project ‘Transatlantic Nationalism: American Literature in Britain, 1830-1860’, conducted by Dr Katie McGettigan, Leverhulme Trust Early Career Fellow in the Department of American and Canadian Studies. The blog and the research project analyse how transatlantic circulation was an integral part of American cultural development. Blog posts explore the networks through which American titles came to Britain and the forms in which they were published. It will be accompanied by an Open Access database of American poetry and narrative writing that was published and disseminated Britain in the mid-century.
