Time to put a spring in your step this term? Learn more about the upcoming employer-led skills workshops this term
Welcome back after the Christmas break! This week, we are keeping you up to date with the variety of employer-led skills workshops coming up this term…
Throughout the spring term, a number of key businesses will be delivering a variety of skills workshops during February and March at University Park. Employers running the workshops include EY, Teach First, Mars, KPMG, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, GSK… and more! Not only do these workshops help you to boost and improve your employability, they are also delivered by top employers in various industries. They’ve seen it all… the good, the bad and the ugly! They will be able to advise you on achieving the positives and avoiding the blunders.
Spoilt for Choice!
From presentation skills and the benefits of networking to team building and leadership skills, there really is a great selection to choose from. The workshops are interactive, collaborative and empowering!
Many of the workshops focus on personal development, conduct and delivery within the working environment or application process, such as within the ‘How to deliver effective presentations’ as well as ‘Interviews – how to sell yourself effectively’.
There are also workshops on offer that concentrate more on the professional development and career progression, such as ‘Networking – How to make it work for you!” as well as “Influencing and Negotiating”.
So, take your pick!
Interested? Here is how to book
To book, you will need to head over to and log into My Career and search for your desired skills workshop (using the title or the ID from Workspace). Once you have found the one(s) you would like to attend, you will be able to reserve your place… Hey presto! Bookings are now open! Most workshops occur on Wednesdays in C20, in Portland Building, as this tends to suit most students’ timetable, but please do check timings.
And what is more, some of these workshops contribute towards the Skills for Employability module too – double bonus! Spring term applications for this module close on Wednesday 28 January, so don’t miss out!
Remember, the skills workshops are open to all students, not just for those registered on the Award – so do spread the word and get your friends involved too! All upcoming careers events are available to view in our Events booklet, www.nottingham.ac.uk/careers/events
