What does it take to be a good leader…?
As part of the Experian Leadership module 15 students have completed Leadership training, run by Experian here at the University. Students attended a full day of intensive training and were given a few weeks to put their new found skills in to practice before returning to present their experience to a panel of staff from both Experian and the University.
During the sessions students looked at various models of leadership in particular focusing on “authentic leadership” and explored their individual preference and style.
“It has been a memorable experience for me to be involved with the University. I have been involved in developing our managers and leaders in Experian for a few years and it was enlightening to bring some of the same material to a very different audience. The students had really interesting discussions and challenges and I hope that everyone was able to take something valuable away from the session which will help them, not only in their work life but also in their personal growth and development”.
Karen Stevens, Development Consultant at Experian
“This module has given me the confidence to enhance my own skills, develop my own ideas and explore the kind of leader that I am and work towards the kind of leader that I can become. I would recommend this module because it is varied, interesting and interactive throughout – it gives you a lot to think about!”
