Looking back on the spring term
Now that we have reached the end of the spring term, here is a round-up of what has been happening over the last month or so!
Prizes, Prizes, Prizes!
The Award team have collated the employer-supported prize applications received from students who have completed two or more modules. Once the shortlisting process was completed, students were invited to an interview.
This year we have the following prizes:
- EY – Enterprise in the Community prize
- Enterprise Rent-A-Car – Female Entrepreneur of the Year prize
- Experian – Personal Development prize
- Coca-Cola – Professional Development prize
- Vice-Chancellor’s Global Graduate prize
- BT – Collaboration and Communication prize
- Accenture – High Performance prize
- Teach First – Outstanding Contribution in the Community prize
All of the students performed strongly in the interview stage portraying a professional manner and providing good examples of how their achievements have progressed through the Award modules. Well done to all the students who were shortlisted!
The winners and highly commended students have now been selected and informed – congratulations to all! The results will be announced at this year’s Celebration Event on 9 June 2015, so you’ll have to wait a little longer to find out!
If you will be completing your Award this year (before 9 June 2015), you can RSVP to attend the Celebration Event by completing the short survey. Additionally, all shortlisted, highly commended and winners of the prizes are invited to attend too.
Strike a Pose!
This week, the winners and highly commended students had their photographs taken by the University’s professional photographer. These photographs will be featured in the event handbook as well as at the Celebration Event. Luckily, the weather was on our side and it wasn’t the day of the hailstorm with thunder and lightning thankfully!
Student Workshop
Alongside the employer-supported prizes, the Award team have also delivered our new student workshop, which focused on using the Award to your advantage. There were tips on how to showcase your experience through the Award in the various stages of the recruitment process, alongside case studies, group activities and interactive sessions. Look out for future workshops which will help you to acknowledge what you have achieved through the Award and reflect onthe skills that you have developed.
My Career
With the end of spring term, there will no doubt be assessments being submitted and modules being completed! We recommend that you check your profile on My Career to ensure your modules and marks are up to date under the ‘Miscellaneous Information’ section. To log on to check your profile, go to My Career.
