Employers on Campus…
During the spring term the following employers will be on campus offering non promotional skills workshops:
- GlaxoSmithKline – Application Advice
- Ernst & Young – Know your strengths
- Tata Steel – Assessment Centres
- BAE Systems – Interview Technique
- Deloitte – Assessment Centres
- Michael Page – Enhance your Employability
And lots more……!
These sessions are called ‘Skills for Employability’ sessions and run most Mondays and Wednesdays throughout both autumn and spring term and start at 1pm. Sessions take place in C20 Portland Building. These sessions have a maximum capacity of 60 students to ensure the sessions are interactive and all students get the opportunity to ask questions.
Students who attend 6 of these sessions and complete some online activities can gain accreditation towards the Nottingham Advantage Award.
Feedback from the autumn term 2011 included the following student comments:
‘I learnt a lot! We learnt the major mistakes job seekers make throughout the application process- from the application form through to an assessment centre.’
‘I learnt important key points on what not to (and hence what to) do throughout the application process (including application forms, interviews, case studies and group exercises)’
To book a place at one of these sessions please register for the events on My Career.
If you would like to accredit this as an award module you will need to register by following the instructions on the Skills for Employability workspace page.
Remember, these aren’t the only sessions available this term, there will be lots of other employers visiting campus for both promotional and non promotional activities so keep checking the website for more information.
