The Headliner Lacrosse | Final thoughts

We are counting down the hours until from the first draw of The Headliner where the University of Nottingham Ladies Lacrosse 1st team will compete against University of Oxford for a place in the semi-finals of the conference cup.

Spectators are getting excited, giving support to our #GreenandGold girls…. But how are the Captain and Coach are feeling? We caught up with them to find out.

1st Team Captain, Alys Cowx said, “The whole team is really excited for Wednesday’s Headliner quarter final! The competition is always strong when you reach these knock out stages so there’s no doubt it’ll be a tough fought game by both teams. We’ve been training hard throughout the season, with motivation and intensity being at an all-time high in these final few weeks. We’ve really been focusing on our fitness and unit play, we are all confident this will show on the field in Wednesday’s Headliner.”

Head Coach, Claire Faram said “We’ve had a lot of new players come in this season who have brought a new level of intensity to the team. The girls have been working hard in pitch sessions S&C to become faster, fitter and stronger in the hope to better their BUCS results from last year. A win this Wednesday will officially better last season, despite 2017/18 being the 1st team’s most successful season ever. The team atmosphere and cohesion off-pitch has played a great part in their success on the pitch – the girls work hard for each other, fight for every ball and have a real drive to win. I want them to step out on Wednesday with confidence and belief in each other, knowing that if they work hard and work together then nobody can stop them.”
