Jumpstart your summer at the GO TRI Aquathlon!

The Triathlon Club are back with their third Go TRI event of the year, this time an Aquathlon!

Suitable for any level of fitness and enthusiasm, the course will consist of a 200m swim followed by a 3km run around University Park campus. The event is specifically designed for first timers, and is a perfect opportunity for Postgrads, Staff, and all other students to take a dip into Aquathlon, with friendly marshals on hand to cheer you on the whole way!

The Aquathlon is part of the club’s continued support for GO TRI, a Sport England funded initiative which offers beginners a fun way to access multi-sport events for the first time. They are fun and accessible for all at a reasonable price.

James Bramley, the current SU Sports Officer who took part in November’s GO TRI event, said:

“It was my first ever event and it was such a fantastic experience. It was well organised, open to all levels from beginners to experienced pros and it was great to see so many people trying out something new! These events are perfect for engaging Postgrads and Staff members with everything UoN Sport has to offer, and I’d encourage everyone to just turn up and have a go!”

So, what are you waiting for? All you need is a swimming costume (or any sort of swim wear), and running shoes and clothing. We also recommend bringing along plenty of enthusiasm and, of course, a winning smile!

Registration costs £5 (inclusive a £1 donation to Life Cycle 6 Supporting Breast Cancer Research) and to sign up, all you have to do is click here. To find out more information about the day and details of the course, please visit the Facebook event or email: sutriathlonclub@nottingham.ac.uk

See you at the start line!
