This section of the blog will post call for papers for conferences and journals, highlight job applications and related opportunities ranging from internships to lectureship positions, in addition to posting announcements for other academic events, such as summer schools

  1. Call for Papers: SIDI Annual Conference on Migration and International Law

 The Italian Society of International Law and European Union Law is organising its XXII Annual Conference on “Migration and International Law: Beyond Emergency?” to be held in Trento on 8 and 9 June 2017. Abstracts in English, French or Italian are welcome. The deadline for applications is 15 April 2017. For further information and conference sessions see link below.

  1. Summer School: Human Rights Law and Law of the European Union at the European University Institute (EUI)

Final days to apply for the Summer Schools organised by the European University Institute on Human Rights Law or Law of the European Union. These will take place in Fiesole (Italy) from 19 June to 14 July 2017.  The Human Rights Law course will focus on “Human Rights and Experimentalist Governance” and on “Human Rights and Global Governance”, while the EU Law course will discuss “The UK without the EU and the EU without the UK” and “New legal approaches to studying the Court of Justice”. The Summer School fees are 700 EUR and the deadline for applications is 3 April 2017.

  1. “Fellows in Rio 2017-2018”: Applications for Doctoral Candidates and Postdoctoral Researcher in Rio de Janeiro

FGV Direito Rio, a leading Law School in Rio de Janeiro, is offering scholarships to attract highly qualified doctoral candidates and post-doc researchers of any nationality for a research period on its campus in any field of Law. The fellows will participate in projects at the school’s research centres, along with developing their own research. They will also have the opportunity to give short courses to students, and participate in workshops with researchers and professors. Application deadline is 30 April 2017.

  1. Junior Research Fellowships in Law at the University of Oxford

Jesus College, University of Oxford invites applications for the Shaw Foundation Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) in Law, tenable for three years from 1 October 2017. The Fellowship is open to those researching in any field of law and who are in the early stages of their academic career, typically at postdoctoral level. The deadline for applications is 31 March 2017.

Trinity College, University of Oxford welcomes applications for a stipendiary or non-stipendiary Junior Research Fellowship, tenable for three years from 1 October 2017, in Constitutional Law and/or Constitutional Theory. The successful candidate is likely to be at (or near) the postdoctoral level. This post is sponsored by the Programme for the Foundations of Law and Constitutional Government at the University of Oxford. The Junior Research Fellow must engage in original research, and may undertake a limited amount of teaching with the consent of the College. Applications should be submitted before 21 April 2017.
