Welfare Team

New Welfare team

As part of the formation of the University’s new Student Services department, a new Welfare Team has been established. Every school now has a welfare officer, the details of which can be found on the Student Services website.

The Welfare Team act as a ‘go-to’ point for student welfare support. They help to ensure students receive the best possible support, working closely with the wide range of University health and welfare service providers. Working in their Schools they design and deliver induction sessions for new students, run drop-in sessions, and provide communications to raise awareness of the support available. They provide similar awareness-raising for staff, including the identification of staff training needs, and organise and deliver training. They also work closely with academic colleagues, including personal tutors, to identify courses of action for students such as those with disabilities and those with extenuating circumstances.
