19 July – 25 July: The big stories

The big news from The University of Nottingham this week surround the Olympics and the countdown to London 2012. Firstly, there’s a look at the University’s former-students who are competing at the games, including Beijing medal winners David Florence and Tim Brabants. There’s also news of canoeist Johny Akinyemi who’s made it into Team Nigeria after narrowly missing out on a place four years ago. In other news, the University has sealed a £1m research collaboration with Chinese car giant FAW to investigate low carbon technologies.
