University of Nottingham International Successes

It is not unusual for the University to receive plaudits for its international successes, but that does not mean that we should not highlight them as when they happen.

This week has seen two notable successes.

Nick MilesProfessor Nick Miles has received an OBE in recognition of his work to further UK/China educational interests. Professor Miles is Pro-Vice-Chancellor and Provost of the University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC), leading on the University’s activities at the campus, which has 5,500 students and more than 500 staff.

I am sure that all at UNMC will want to congratulate Nick for this well deserved honour.

ABC ThelmaNottingham was singled out for its Outstanding international strategy at the Times Higher Education Leadership and Management Awards (THELMA).

The honour recognises the work of the University’s Asia Business Centre, which has helped to identify £25m in commercial funding for the institution through joint research programmes, training and corporate philanthropy.

UNMC works closely with ABC and its head, Jason Feehily, is a frequent visitor to the campus. I am sure that you will join me in congratulating Jason and his team on the THELMA award.
