Libraries Week 2019: Are you ready for the digital workplace?

Part of our Libraries Week 2019 blog series

According to the Jisc Digital experience insights survey 2018, only 41% of UK students felt that their course prepared them for the digital workplace.

In response to this, students at the University of Nottingham have been given access to the Jisc Digital Discovery Tool to self-assess their digital capabilities and identify areas for improvement.

Discover and develop your digital capabilities

Log in to Jisc.potential.ly with your University username and password.

The tool assesses your digital capabilities across six key areas and produces a personalised report with next steps and online resources to help you develop your skills further.

The six key areas are:

1. Digital proficiency

2. Information, media and digital literacy

3. Digital creation, problem-solving and innovation

4. Digital communication, collaboration and participation

5. Digital learning and development

6. Digital identity and wellbeing

Which skills do you want to develop?

As part of Libraries Week, from the 7 – 12 October 2019, students and staff in George Green Library on University Park can vote for the skills they most want to develop.

Simply pick up a token and place it in the box or boxes of your choice. We’ll be sharing the results later in the month.

If you haven’t already tried out the Digital Discovery Tool, log in with your University username and password to get your personalised report.
