NUsearch upgrade Thursday 23 June – Important message about your eShelf

To make it easier to find books, journals and other library resources, we will be upgrading and improving NUsearch on Thursday 23 June 2016. This will make searching more reliable and improve access to the information you need.

The eShelf functionality will continue to be available in the upgraded NUsearch. Unfortunately we are unable to migrate the contents of existing eShelf accounts automatically from the old service to the new.

Before the upgrade

To prepare for the upgrade, please do the following:

For the eShelf

  1. If you no longer need your eShelf contents, do nothing. A fresh eShelf will be available for you to populate in the new version of NUsearch.
  2. To keep the contents of your current eShelf you need to either:

For saved queries and alerts

  1. If you no longer need your saved queries, do nothing. You will be able to set up new saved queries in the new version of NUsearch.
  2. Saved queries cannot be exported out of your NUsearch account, so you will need to make a note of them to allow you to re-create them after the upgrade. See our guide: Capturing saved queries and alerts information (PDF) for further help.

For My Account

No action is required. All of your library loans, requests and other information in My Account will appear when you login to your new eShelf.

After the upgrade

For the eShelf

  1. The upgraded NUsearch does not have the facility to re-import eShelf items that have been exported to EndNote.
  2. A step-by-step guide on how to manually add items from EndNote back onto your eShelf will be made available from Thursday 23 June.
  3. If you emailed a list of your old eShelf items to us, we will contact you direct after the NUsearch upgrade and help you re-create these items in your new eShelf

For saved queries and alerts

A step-by-step guide on how to manually re-create your saved queries and alerts in your new eShelf will be made available from Thursday 23 June.
