Meet the team behind The Ingenuity Lab
“It takes two flints to make a fire” – Louisa May Alcott
We have had an incredibly exciting few months at The Ingenuity Lab.
We established The Ingenuity Competition as the biggest entrepreneurship competition in the UK. The Ingenuity Lab Internship Scheme began helping a range of students gain work experience, and are now beginning to recruit the second cohort of interns. Over 100 active Ingenuity Lab businesses are looking forward to moving into our new bespoke space in The Ingenuity Centre.
You may also have noticed, our team has grown quite a bit over the past 12 months. Together, we support the ethos of The Ingenuity Lab: exploration, co-operation and collaboration, and work to support University students and alumni to realise their entrepreneurial potential.
Steve Chapman: Head of The Ingenuity Lab
Steve joined The Ingenuity Lab in December 2014 following a career that ranged from banking through to Film. Over his career he has worked for the likes of JP Morgan and Citibank, was an Assistant Director of projects such as Saving Private Ryan, The Boxer and EastEnders and locally was responsible for setting up Nottingham’s creative industries hub, Antenna. Steve is also the Director of innovative home brand Fenton Art + Design, and dance fitness brand, Ballestics.
Steve is responsible for the strategy, development and operations of The Ingenuity Lab, working across the University and externally, to raise the profile and develop new and exciting opportunities for The Ingenuity Lab.
Steve’s pastimes include regularly visiting the gym, running and sleeping, when possible!
