Hi, I’m Lindsey, the new DHC Research Associate for this academic year.

I will be available in the DHC on Wednesdays 11-5 and Fridays 10-5 to provide access to the equipment and software, and loan out equipment such as laptops, projectors and cameras. I also operate the A0 equipment for anyone who needs posters printed or large scale documents scanned (see here for more details)

Another aspect to my role is working with the DHC’s team of volunteers. This year I will be leading the DHC’s marketing team who will be running our Facebook and Twitter pages, blogging, producing posters, making promo videos and representing the centre at university open days and events. I will also be supervising a couple of the volunteer projects, the marketing work we will be doing for the ‘Classics on TV: Greek Tragedy on the Small Screen’ event in January is of particular interest to me as I will be presenting a paper at the event!

I am studying full time to obtain a masters degree in the Visual Culture of Classical Antiquity, having graduated from Nottingham last year with an undergraduate degree in Ancient History. My main study interests are mythological narratives in ancient visual culture, and how Roman attitudes to sexuality are transmitted through Pompeian erotic art.

Outside of university, I enjoy going to the cinema, DIY (to varying degrees of success) and looking after my two rescue cats.  This year I am looking forward to studying at postgraduate level here at Nottingham and meeting new people through my work with the DHC.

I look forward to seeing you in the DHC soon!
